Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” He knew the value of continuing to gain more knowledge, and I completely agree. Knowledge is what can separate you from the pack. It can take you as high as you want to go if you put it into action. It’s important that you must keep acquiring knowledge and improving your skills.

Though I’ve never had a super detailed plan for my career, I do have a vision of what I want it to look like. As an immediate goal, I am working on becoming a certified Engagement Manager. I’ve also recently acquired the Scaled Agile Framework SP certification. What’s great about Sogeti is that we have an ecosystem that encourages employees enhance their skills and you have the freedom to pursue certifications that will take your career to that next level.

There is also a career framework in place that guides your professional growth, and helps you determine the competencies you need to be successful in current and future roles. It’s so important to be a sponge, listen, and leverage the wealth of information that is available to you.

I’ve seen this success play out in my own career. My current client, an esteemed insurance client, has undertaken an underwriting transformation initiative and moving over to a new policy administration system. I’m very proud of my work on this project and its success has allowed me to establish a name for myself and for Sogeti with the client. Seeing a client transform and become leaders in their field has been very satisfying, and it’s one of the reasons that I’m proud to be a part of the Applications & Cloud Technologies (ACT) practice. My personal goals are in sync with my practice’s goals, and I can’t ask for anything more than that. The sense of accomplishment that I get from a job well done is what drives me, so it has been a very rewarding experience.

Sogeti has an ecosystem that encourages employees enhance their skills, which offers a unique blend of opportunities to learn, develop, and grow your skills. This has definitely helped me progress in my career. It’s so important to leverage the wealth of information available to you.

I’ve also gained valuable knowledge and experience as part of the 2019 Global Recruitment of Women  (GROW) campaign as part of Women’s Leadership Development Program (WLDP). The WLDP is a four-month program developed by Capgemini North America that provides coaching for women in our organization that have high potential to become future leader. This particular campaign was focused on fulfilling our commitment to equality and better gender balance on our teams. The people around you play a key role in your career and you need to be ready to listen and learn to the knowledge and experience of others.  It was a truly valuable experience.
