It’s Been an Amazing Experience So Far

Four years ago, I came to the US for college, and it was a massive change in my life. It was a big task to adjust to a new country and culture. One thing I’ve learned from my experience is that making connections is very important. It was because of one of those connections that I was introduced to Sogeti. With lots of passion and dreams that I wanted to achieve, I was fortunate enough to display be offered a job as an associate consultant at Sogeti’s Chicago unit.

Working for Sogeti is one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Sogeti is such a large organization and a major force in the IT space. I knew that this was an opportunity I would not want to miss.

It’s been two months since I joined the Sogeti family, and it has been an amazing experience so far. I was welcomed into the Chicago unit with lots of love and excitement from my colleagues. As this is my first job after graduating from college, I knew that there would be something new to learn every hour of every day.  This is made easier since everyone that I get to work with has so much knowledge and experience that they are very willing to share. So, there’s always something new to learn.

At my current client, I am working as a Microsoft O365 Developer. My main role is providing enhancements to existing SharePoint sites on my client's intranet, and I have also been creating dynamic forms and apps using Microsoft’s new tools like PowerApps and Flow.

The best part about this role is that I get to interact with the end user, and I get to build solutions from the ground up. I also get to collaborate with all these different people, which is a great way to learn as well.  

What really excited me about ACT is that there is plenty to learn. It also comes with its fair amount of challenges which I enjoy tackling.

It might be too soon to spotlight some notable highlights of my time at Sogeti, given that I’ve only worked here for a couple months.  However, I plan to create many highlights in the future. I have been actively taking part in Summer of Service, including volunteering to pack meals for Feed My Starving Children, a charity that supplies scientifically formulated meals for undernourished children.  

This is just the beginning, and I have tons and tons to goals to accomplish. Curiosity drives my passion. It’s what motivates me to learn new things. I know I’ll meet people throughout my career journey that will teach me important lessons. I just plan to keep learning, stay curious, and show my talent.
