Situation
This client is the second largest Health Care Provider in the North West . Like other health care insurance companies, our client was faced with meeting government-mandated deadlines for implementation of HIPAA regulations for transactions and privacy. This required the creation of a completely new infrastructure to support new EDI requirements and "map and wrap" solutions that could easily and reliably interface to existing systems. |

Solution
To support this initiative and to support the work to become HIPAA compliant the client started in 2000 to implement an EAI architecture built on Mercator, MS SQL Server and IBM MQ Series. Sogeti consultants were brought in to help the client in initial pilot projects and conceptual design. Major responsibilities for this phase were project management, requirements facilitation and systems design. Subsequent work entailed overall project responsibilities for design, build, test and implementation involving legacy system integration. The EAI architecture was implemented across multiple platforms including OS/390, Unix and HP.
Today extensive integration testing is underway across legacy and middleware environments with planned implementations occurring over the next 4 to 12 months. |
