The team used the data warehouse to create the project management dashboard, using data from multiple sources. Benefits
The Project Dashboard is designed to give IT managers a means to monitor the status of IT projects throughout the organization. Upon entering the Dashboard, the user sees a list of all active projects and a dash light (Red, Green, Yellow) that tells the user which projects are on target and which ones need to be analyzed. For each project the dashboard contains charter information including important dates, budget details, the project's alignment within the overall strategic framework, and charter review committee recommendations.

The Dashboard also offers specific details of each project's status and progress against established milestones. The application works with an Intranet status-reporting program to provide this critical information. Dashboard users will be able to view all weekly status reports created for the project, past and present. These reports include important information such as recent accomplishments, goals and critical issues facing the project. The Dashboard also contains very detailed and current information on the progress being made against project milestones. |

Dashboard users can view estimates and actuals for effort, cost and timing along with the relevant variances for each milestone. Having the ability to review all projects in a timely fashion helps senior management to make informed decisions with regards to projects and offer a new perspective by which strategic decisions can be made. |
