Cap Gemini Launches Sogeti

Cap Gemini SA announces the creation of Sogeti, a wholly owned subsidiary, specializing in local professional services. Operational from January 1, 2002, this new entity, managed by Berend Brix and Luc-François Salvador intends to become the reference in local professional services. Sogeti's clients include CIO's of the local headquarters of large companies in all economic sectors. Located in close proximity to its clients, Sogeti is based in France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland and the U.S.
 

Local professional services - covering offerings which support the local IT projects of large companies in areas such as software development and infrastructure management - represent, according to Pierre Audoin Conseil, a market valued at 29.5 billion euros, or about a quarter of the European market for IT services.
 

This segment of the market, which is growing favorably, is very distinct and - especially in terms of localization - should be approached by a dedicated unit operating with a distinct business model, management style and appropriate recruitment methods.
 

Sogeti
Sogeti is a company specializing in local professional services. Geographically located close to the local technical decision-makers of large companies, Sogeti offers its clients a full range of technological IT knowledge and expertise. Sogeti employs more than 5,000 employees in France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland and the US. A wholly owned subsidiary of Cap Gemini SA, Sogeti began operations on January 1 and would have reported 2001 revenues of about 550 million euros.
